Our Beliefs
The Scriptures - We hold that the Scriptures are the perfect, inerrant, and infallible word of God. These Scriptures were written by men who were divinely inspired by God. We believe that these Scriptures have been perfectly preserved in the King James Version of the Bible. Thus, the King James Bible is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
II Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
The Godhead - The Godhead, commonly known as the trinity, is the doctrine clearly laid out in Scripture revealing that God exists in three distinct persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are distinct yet they are all one in being.
I John 5:7 “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
The Deity of Christ - We believe that Jesus of Nazareth was not merely a moral teacher, but that he was God manifest in the flesh. He is as the Scriptures point out, the only begotten Son of God.
John 1:1 and 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
The Second Coming - We believe that Jesus Christ will physically return to this Earth to establish his literal kingdom for one thousand years. This event will follow the Great Tribulation which is preceded by the Rapture of the Church.
I Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
Revelation 20:6 “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
The Church - The church is the local assembly of believers who have been placed in the body of Christ. We attend church to worship God, be edified with the saints, and be encouraged to bring the Gospel of Christ to others. Our mission is to bring the Gospel to our community and the regions beyond.
Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Ephesians 4:11-12 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;(12) For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:”
The Depravity of Man - We hold the Scriptural doctrine that man is born a sinner and that no religious sacrament or good deed can save him. Mankind is utterly without hope outside of the full atonement of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:1-3 “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; (2) Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (3) Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”
The Gospel - The Gospel is the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Man’s only hope is to accept the free gift of salvation afforded by the Gospel. Upon believing and receiving the Gospel, one is “born again” and forgiven all trespasses and sins.
I Corinthians 15:1-4 “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; (2) By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. (3) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; (4) And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: (9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Heaven and Hell - Every soul will ultimately find themselves in one of two destinations—Heaven or Hell. Those who accept Christ are given the guarantee of a heavenly home while those who reject the Gospel will be doomed for hell and the final judgment at God’s Great White Throne.
Daniel 12:2 “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
Revelation 20:11-15 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. (12) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (13) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (14) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (15) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Revelation 21:1-4 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (2) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (3) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (4) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
